Micah and Nick elected to IFC positions at Valpo

Elected IFC Officers

Micah Topel and Nick Wottowa, both Phi Delts and juniors at Valpo, were elected to the 2016 Interfraternity Council (IFC). Micah will be serving as Vice President of Operations and Nick as Vice President of Recruitment.  With this election, Valpo Phi Delts now represent two of the six available positions on IFC… quite admirable for a growing chapter of our size!

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body of the 9 fraternities at Valparaiso University. According to the University website, IFC has three objectives:

  • Representing the fraternity interest to the University and community;
  • Promotion of the concept of self-governance among Greek organizations;
  • Overseeing membership recruitment activities and promoting community service.

As VP of Operations Micah will supervise IFC finances, prepare the annual budget, provide guidance on fraternity scholarship programs, develop award programs and keep statistics of fraternity membership.  Nick will be in charge of recruitment workshops, recruitment advertising, upholding recruitment regulations, maintaining potential new member lists and providing advice to fraternity recruitment officers.

Both Micah and Nick will be rejoining us after spending their semesters abroad in Germany and China.  We welcome them back to campus and are very proud of their representation on IFC!
